Our service can provide FREE:
- Supported one-on-one transport for medical appointments and treatments
- Supply and laundering of linen
- Supply equipment needed for support in the home
- Provide respite and visits to home and hospital
The package can be delivered as a whole or in parts depending on your INDIVIDUAL NEEDS. Our service operates all year round including Public Holidays so clients/carers are never without access to support.

We recognise the carers, family and friends’ roles and volunteer our support to them as well. The BUTTERFLY is the logo of our service. It is our belief that the butterfly embodies the spirit of Palliative Care. “A gentle touch, fragile, delicate, evolving and changing”
Our volunteers can be supporting friends for however long you need them to assist you on your journey!
Dungog Shire Palliative Care Volunteers Inc. is registered as a DGR (Deductible Gift Recipient)and Charitable Fundraiser and receives limited funding from the NSW Health NGO Programme.
TRANSPORT
DSPCVol.Inc. provides FREE fully supported transport to medical appointments and treatments (both within the Shire and all major treatment centres including Newcastle, Singleton, Maitland, Muswellbrook and further afield if required). If desired a support person (Carer, family member or friend )is welcome to accompany the client. Alternately if required the driver can accompany the client to doctor appointments and remain with them during treatments providing additional support.
LINEN
DSPCVol.Inc. provides FREE OF CHARGE linen. We can provide Mattress protectors, bottom sheets, Macs, Kylies, top sheets, pillowcases, towels, washers and bathmats. The volunteers will deliver clean, and collect used linen to be washed as you require and to suit your INDIVIDUAL needs.
EQUIPMENT
DSPCVol.Inc can assist with FREE OF CHARGE Equipment support packages including Hospital grade beds with airflow mattress systems, side rails and handgrip, wheelchairs, walkers, commode chairs, shower chairs, gel cushions and electric recliner chairs.
RESPITE
DSPC Vol.Inc can provide FREE respite in the home to support carers (give them a break)Respite can also provide companionship for clients who live alone. Respite frequency can be varied to suit carer/client needs and interests. (including respite in the home or outings for clients).
